The curriculum is aligned with Colorado’s Early Learning and Development Guidelines and is age specific. These guidelines measure:

  • Language and Literacy Development
  • Cognitive Development
  • Logic and Reasoning
  • Mathematics
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Science Knowledge and Skills
  • Social Studies Knowledge and Skills
  • Creative Arts Expression

Along with implementing the HighScope Curriculum, our staff creates daily, weekly, and monthly plans for each classrooms to ensure that each domain above is being met. In addition, our curriculum crosswalks with Colorado Shines.

Age-Specific Learning

Infant

Infant

(6 weeks – 18 months)

Infants begin learning from the day they are born, and we are here to foster and support the enormous amount of information they take in every day. Our teachers take great care in making sure that each child’s most basic needs are met, but just like our other programs, the infants have their own curriculum and toys that support their development as they explore the world around them. With infants, we focus on the following domains:

  • Approaches to Learning
  • Social/Emotional Development
  • Physical Growth and Health
  • Communications, Language, and Literacy
  • Cognitive Development
  • Creative Arts

Each of our infants is on their own feeding, sleeping, and diapering schedule. As our toddler rooms have a more structured day, when it is time for your little one to transition, we will work together to make that transition as easy as possible.

Toddler

Toddler

(12 months – 36 months)

Children in this age group are now mobile and seeing the world from a new point of view. Games, toys, and activities are therefore developed for their new level of learning. They will begin developing skills hygiene to health eating habits. Kiddos at this age love to help out and we encourage them to be more independent and try new things.

These classroom’s schedules and daily activities are more structured and now include activities like circle time, family style meals, and group play among many others. These types of activities encourage and help develop socialization, understanding the safety of themselves as well as the other people around them, and sharing.

Pre-K

Pre-Kindergarten

(3 – 6 years)

School-readiness is our main goal in these classrooms. We will continue to foster your child’s independence and while we will still touch on each of the 9 domains, there will be more of an emphasis on mathematics, science, language and literacy, and social studies more than the other classrooms.

In these rooms, we have provided activities and equipment, like listening centers, that they will likely see in their elementary school so that they can be prepared for the next stage in their education.

School Age

School Age

(6 – 13 years)

With our school-age kids, we take the time to help them with their homework after school if needed and provide fun activities like cooking projects and science experiments.

Depending on the location of your child’s school, we are equipped to provide transportation to and from school. We will provide breakfast for children attending our Before School Program and an afternoon snack for children attending our After School Program.

We can also provide care for your child when their school is scheduled to be closed. On these days, we will provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
